Dark angels have men allowed – for long ages to silhouette and spoil the scene
In shadows of beguiling portraits – they cause men to lie, suppose, and scheme
Teaching fear to all for whom they speak – by disallowing that one’s true voice
So the truth suffers – for those who permit the intrusion – deny it’s by their choice
Conflict in interest and misguided assumption – becomes the war or the debate
Instead of proper view in light face to face – men choose character to assassinate
Cowards prefer the darkness in which to hide their illiteracy of mind and soul
So the truth suffers – while deplorable tactics and unfair conniving – takes the toll
These staining phantoms by demonic pledge take others to bid and boost the plan
Of the collective and increasing cohorts – who lack the courage for truth to stand
With honesty denied a voice – integrity shifts its posture – and guile finds its place
So the truth suffers – for men will not simply speak in light – of honesty -face -to face
